Social Move unlocks each day based on the activity from the day before. Reach 100% of your goal, which is 10,000 steps, 30 minutes of exercise, or a mix of both, and the next day unlocks. Your first day after setup is already unlocked. If yesterday didn't count, the Use Rest Day button on the Home tab gives you 30 minutes, up to 2 times a week. If your apps stay blocked even though you're moving, check the next few answers: the cause is usually Manual Activity Mode or Health access.
The most common cause is Manual Activity Mode being turned on by accident. Open Settings in Social Move and look at the Manual Activity Mode switch at the top. If it's on, Social Move ignores your steps and workouts from Apple Health. In that mode, you add your own activity by hand, and nothing is counted until you do.
To log activity in Manual Activity Mode:
Manual Activity Mode is meant for people who don't wear a tracker, or for a parent logging a child's activity. If you'd rather have Social Move count your steps and workouts automatically, turn the switch off in Settings. You'll need your 4-digit Hard Pass code to change it.
Check these in order:
Social Move shows an orange "Not seeing your activity?" note on the Home tab when it can't find any data for today or yesterday.
Your daily goal is 100%, and it adds up from two things: steps (10,000 steps is 100%) and exercise (30 minutes is 100%). They combine, so 5,000 steps plus 15 minutes of exercise also reaches 100%. A Walking workout counts through your steps, not as exercise minutes, so it isn't counted twice. Other workouts, like running, cycling, or strength training, count as exercise minutes.
When a slot ends, your apps lock again automatically and Social Move sends a "Time's up" notification. You can start another slot after you've waited as long as the last one lasted. For example, after a 15-minute slot, you wait 15 minutes. That pause is on purpose, so you don't go straight back to scrolling.
Social Move is a free download. You can use everything for 7 days. After that, you unlock it once for $6.99. It's a single purchase, with no subscription and no automatic charge, and you don't create an account.
Social Move is built for iPhone, and that's the only device we support. It isn't designed for iPad, and it isn't available for Mac or Apple Vision. It reads activity from the Apple Health app, so steps and workouts recorded by an Apple Watch or another tracker that syncs to Health count too. The app itself doesn't run on the watch.
Your settings, Hard Pass code, birthday, and history are stored on your phone, not on a server. If you restore your new phone from a backup, they usually come with it. If you set it up as new, you'll start fresh and go through setup again. Your Apple Health data, and your purchase, follow your Apple Account. Tap Restore Purchase on the purchase screen if the unlock doesn't appear.
Email socialmoveapp@gmail.com. It helps if you tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version (Settings, then General, then About), whether Manual Activity Mode is on, and what you see on the Home tab. A screenshot is even better.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, go to Screen Time, then Apps With Screen Time Access, and make sure Social Move is turned on. Social Move shows a red banner on the Home tab when that access is off.
Social Move reads from the Apple Health app, not from your watch's rings. Compare it with the steps and workouts in Health and they should match. Pull down on the Home tab to refresh.
In Settings, tap Forgot Code? That starts a 2-day waiting period, and after it you can set a new code. You can cancel the reset any time before then.
Changes to your blocked apps take a few hours to apply, on purpose, so you can't unblock something on impulse. Settings shows how much time is left.
Deleting Social Move removes all of its restrictions and erases everything it stores on your phone, including your code, birthday, and history. Your Apple Health data isn't affected.
